University of Lisbon
The Institute of Education (IE-UL) is a school of the University of Lisbon and a Portuguese leading centre for research and teaching in the field of Education. IE carries out and several national and international projects in history of education, knowledge and policies, adult education, teacher education, science and mathematics education, and use of ICT in education.
Natália Alves is Professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon. Her main research fields are: youth and adult education policy, education and social exclusion, formal and non-formal education and school to work transitions.
Paula Guimarães is Professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon. Her main research fields are: adult education and adult education policies, in what concerns local, national and supranational settings of policy-making and intervention.
Carmen Cavaco is Professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon. Her main research fields are: adult education policies, formal, non-formal and informal education; recognition of prior learning and experiential learning.
António José Almeida is Professor at the College of Business Administration of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. His main research fields are training systems, skills development, employment and labour market policies.
Rita Queiroga holds a MD in Education Sciences by the University of Lisbon, in Adult education. She is now a full time researcher of the YOUNG_ADULLLT project at the Institute of Education (ULisbon).
She has worked with adults in grass roots organizations and informal groups, in the areas of community and rural development, in the Alentejo Litoral, which is the Functional Region studied by the ULisbon team.
